ICE Raids North Carolina Factory and California Car Wash, Makes Arrests

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested roughly 30 undocumented workers during a 1 July work-site operation at Buckeye Fire Equipment Company in North Carolina. According to accounts circulating on social media, many of those taken into custody face felony allegations that include aggravated identity theft. Five days later, on 6 July, ICE carried out a separate enforcement action at a car wash in Anaheim, California, detaining an undisclosed number of workers suspected of being in the country illegally. The agency has not yet released detailed information on the Anaheim operation or the status of the detainees.
