A 13-year-old girl was killed and a 16-year-old boy was arrested on an operating-under-the-influence charge after a single-car crash in Marblehead, Massachusetts, early Tuesday, authorities said. Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Marblehead Police Chief Dennis King said first responders were called to 352 Atlantic Avenue at about 2:50 a.m. on 19 August. They found a heavily damaged vehicle and the girl, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspected driver was treated for injuries at a local hospital before being taken into custody. Because both individuals are juveniles, officials withheld their names. The incident remains under investigation by Marblehead police, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and State Police crime-scene specialists.
