Several couples in different counties fell victim to romance and refund scams, losing significant amounts of money. One couple in Cheshire lost £50,000, another in Berks lost $18,000 to a 'Geek Squad' scam, and a Bucks County couple lost over $30,000 to scammers posing as their child. In total, the victims handed over approximately $133,000 to the fraudsters.
