Venezuela's government has intensified its crackdown on corruption within the state-owned oil and gas firm PDVSA, leading to the arrest of two high-level energy officials and the former vice president, Tareck El Aissami. The nation's attorney general alleges that El Aissami embezzled up to $21 billion from PDVSA, and authorities have charged him and 53 others with multiple crimes. Concurrently, Russia has been dealing with the aftermath of a terrorist attack in Moscow's Crocus City Hall, accusing Ukrainian nationalists of orchestrating the attack. Russian authorities have detained a Ukrainian agent linked to the bombing, and high-ranking Russian officials have confirmed the involvement of Ukrainian nationalists in the attack.
