Arbitrum Leads Ethereum Layer 2 Growth with Record Active Addresses and 341% YoY Increase

Layer 2 solutions on Ethereum are experiencing significant growth, with Arbitrum leading the charge. Arbitrum recorded an all-time high of 4 million weekly active addresses and a 341% year-over-year increase in active addresses, reaching 779,730. It also ranks first in throughput. Other notable Layer 2 chains include zkSync with 290,120 addresses and a 100% YoY increase, Base with 287,180 addresses, and Optimism with 128,120 addresses and a 133% YoY increase. Arbitrum also holds the top spot in total value locked (TVL) at $18.52 billion, followed by Optimism at $7.67 billion and Base at $6.48 billion. The momentum for ETH has been building for months onchain, with activity metrics off the charts across various Layer 2 solutions.
