Base has announced the launch of its second annual Onchain Summer campaign, set to begin in June with a month-long online hackathon. In collaboration with partners, including Optimism, the event will offer over 600 ETH (approximately $2 million) in prizes, grants, and gas credits to encourage participation from builders, creators, brands, and artists. The initiative aims to foster innovation on the Superchain, with a focus on rewarding developers and creators. Following the hackathon, Coinbase will feature daily experiences in July and August to enhance the onchain experience. Last year's event saw participation from 268,000 wallets, and this year, approximately 11M OP is also up for grabs.
