Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) have seen a significant surge in activity, with a record-breaking purchase of 14,261 BTC on March 12 and a total net inflow of US$11.8B, including a daily inflow of US$133M on March 14. The assets under management (AUM) for Bitcoin ETFs soared from $27.11B to $63.46B, a 134.08% increase in just 45 days, potentially reaching $148.55B in the next 45 days. This growth comes ahead of the Bitcoin halving event, which will reduce BTC production from 900 to 450. The total assets in the 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs have surpassed $60 billion, exceeding the AUM of the largest Gold ETF. March's trading volume for Bitcoin ETFs has already doubled compared to January, indicating a strong buying trend. Notably, BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF had a record trading volume of over $3.8 billion. Despite a sharp decline in inflows on March 14, with an 80% drop from the previous day, the overall trend remains positive, with significant inflows from institutions. The ETFs' remarkable performance is attributed to factors such as the fee reduction to 0% for some ETFs and the total digital asset ETPs crossing $100 billion for the first time. Additionally, Bitcoin ETFs have seen a net inflow increase of +1.9K BTC, reaching a new all-time high of 836.3K BTC held in ETFs. The year-to-date inflow for Bitcoin ETFs (excluding GBTC) stands at $23.6 billion, while gold has seen a $5 billion outflow.
