Ladan Stewart, the former head of the SEC's crypto unit who led actions against Coinbase and Ripple, is leaving the regulator to join White & Case, a prominent law firm. Stewart aims to lead the crypto group in the white collar division and develop cryptocurrency and cyber defense practices. In response to SEC overreach on digital assets, a Texas crypto company and the Crypto Freedom Alliance of Texas have filed a lawsuit against the SEC, seeking clarity and consistent regulation of digital assets in Texas.
