The NEAR Protocol has introduced Chain Signatures, a significant development in the blockchain ecosystem aimed at enhancing user experience across multiple blockchains. This feature allows users to sign transactions on various blockchains using a single NEAR account, effectively connecting the fragmented blockchain landscape without the need for bridges. The initiative, secured by EigenLayer and supported by NEAR stakers, was highlighted during the Chain Abstraction Day, with contributions from MetaWeb, Pantera Capital, Airfoil Studio, and Linear Protocol. This advancement supports a wide range of blockchains including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cosmos chains, DogeCoin, and XRP Ledger, with plans to extend support to more blockchains in the future. The introduction of Chain Signatures is seen as a step forward in simplifying the blockchain user experience and promoting a more integrated Web3 ecosystem.
Chain Signatures launched on @NEARProtocol today, enabling NEAR accounts & smart contracts to sign transactions for any blockchain – no bridges required. Supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cosmos chains, DogeCoin, & XRP Ledger, with more coming soon. More on why it's cool below ⬇️
One small step for man. One giant leap for Chain Abstraction. Chain Signatures, secured by EigenLayer and NEAR stakers, enable transactions on any blockchain from your NEAR account. Start building with Chain Signatures today ⛓️ https://t.co/sUPvXw75yy https://t.co/3cxb6eOtYM
