The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), an initiative by the Government of India to democratize e-commerce through an open-source protocol, has completed over 7.1 million cumulative orders since its inception a year ago, as of February. ONDC is partnering with Superteam India (@SuperteamIN) for a dedicated prize track in the latest Solana global hackathon, specifically the Renaissance hackathon, aiming to increase e-commerce adoption by making platforms interoperable. This partnership marks a significant step towards integrating blockchain technology, specifically through Solana, into India's digital commerce infrastructure, potentially signaling a move towards crypto legitimacy. The collaboration seeks to encourage developers and founders to build innovative solutions for the ONDC platform, ranging from loyalty programs to an ads exchange.
