A recent revelation by Arkham Intelligence has highlighted the substantial cryptocurrency holdings of various governments worldwide, with the United States government emerging as the largest Bitcoin whale. According to Arkham, the U.S. holds crypto assets worth approximately $15.27 billion, including 212,847 Bitcoins (BTC) and 45,654 Ethereum (ETH), with an estimated value of around $14.7 billion for the BTC holdings alone. Other notable government holdings include the British government with 61,245 BTC, valued at around $4.34 billion, and the German government with 49,859 BTC, worth about $3.53 billion. Additionally, an unidentified nation state has been buying 100 Bitcoin daily for a year, now holding 59,000 Bitcoins. This information was disclosed through a newly created dashboard by Arkham, which tracks the current BTC balance, balance history in USD, and real-time feed of the most recent transactions for each country.
