The Verifier Alliance (VERA), an ecosystem collective, has been introduced after almost a year of hard work to facilitate easy, unified, and open access to the source code of EVM smart contracts. VERA aims to standardize the verification process in the EVM space by providing a publicly accessible database of contracts' source code, emphasizing that 'Smart Contracts are for Everyone' and 'Verified Data is for Everyone'. This initiative is supported by various entities, including developers and organizations committed to open data and the establishment of a publicly accessible shared database for verified smart contract source codes across all integrated EVM chains. The transparency provided by verifying source code, which has been difficult to access until now, is seen as crucial for the success of the EVM and the growing ecosystem that supports billions of dollars in custodied assets. The development of 'codeslaw' by supporters aims to assist in searching deployed contracts, highlighting the importance of transparency of contract logic.
We are honored to support open access to EVM smart contracts! @garythung and I built codeslaw to help developers search deployed contracts because transparency of contract logic is critical for a growing ecosystem that now supports BILLIONS of dollars in custodied assets https://t.co/NBUvs5xvUT
Really proud to work with a group that cares about open data and to have had a hand in building out the integration. Keep an eye out for contract verification on Dora soon, I think you'll like what we're cooking and I really hope this helps the community push open data forward. https://t.co/axWIG8RvW8
