Decentralized-exchange aggregator 1inch Network has introduced a cross-chain swapping service that connects Solana with more than a dozen Ethereum-compatible blockchains without relying on traditional token bridges or external messaging protocols. Built on the firm’s Fusion+ Dutch-auction architecture, the system locks users’ funds in chain-specific escrow contracts on the source network while resolvers simultaneously escrow matching liquidity on the destination chain. Assets are released only after a cryptographically linked secret is revealed, allowing orders to settle atomically and eliminating the shared-pool vulnerabilities that have plagued bridges. By bypassing bridges, the design aims to remove a major attack surface in decentralized finance; the Wormhole bridge that links Solana and Ethereum was exploited for about $320 million in 2022. 1inch says the new mechanism also keeps liquidity native to each chain, reducing fragmentation and improving pricing. The capability is available immediately through the 1inch decentralised application, wallet and Fusion+ API, with plans to expand support to additional non-EVM networks over time.
