MetaMask has launched a new feature called "Stablecoin Earn," enabling users to earn yield on stablecoins USDC, USDT, and DAI directly within the MetaMask wallet. This functionality is powered by the DeFi protocol Aave, integrating its lending services to allow users to deposit stablecoins and earn passive yields without lockups, while maintaining full custody of their assets. The integration expands MetaMask’s offerings beyond staking into decentralized finance lending, building on its previous partnerships such as the MetaMask Card. Meanwhile, ConsenSys-backed Ethereum Layer 2 network Linea has unveiled its tokenomics and native ETH yield features ahead of its LINEA token launch. Linea will use ETH for gas fees rather than its own token, which will serve solely as an incentive and funding mechanism without governance rights. The network will burn 20% of all net transaction fees paid in ETH at the protocol level and allocate 85% of the LINEA token supply to ecosystem growth, including support for builders, open source software, and Ethereum public goods. Linea also launched Etherex, a decentralized exchange built on its platform, further strengthening its Ethereum ecosystem integration.
