
A new analysis reveals that 35 major US companies paid their top executives more money than they paid in federal taxes between 2018 and 2022. Tesla topped the list by paying $2.5 billion to its top five executives while earning $4.4 billion in US profit. Despite raking in billions, very few companies paid federal taxes during this period, raising concerns about legal tax dodging.
