A U.S. court in California has approved a $25 million class-action settlement in a lawsuit accusing Allstate of overcharging its policyholders. The settlement was approved by Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who also sanctioned nearly $7.8 million in legal fees and litigation costs. The lawsuit alleged that Allstate overcharged thousands of its automotive policyholders based on their willingness to pay higher premiums for insurance rates.
