Federal Reserve official Hammack said on 14 July that the current policy rate is "pretty close" to the economy’s neutral level and that there is no imminent need for a rate cut. Hammack added that the U.S. central bank would adjust policy if economic conditions weaken, but for now sees the existing stance as appropriately calibrated.
