Google is developing customizable chatbots that could rival those created by Meta and Character AI. These chatbots can be modeled on celebrities or created by users, with plans for a potential launch in 2024. According to The Information, Google's AI products incubator is spearheading this project, which aims to enhance user interaction through personalized chatbot experiences. Character AI, a competitor, recently revealed that they serve more than 20,000 inference queries per second, which is 20% of Google Search's request volume. The chatbots could also integrate with YouTube, with a planned launch this year.
