Humane's AI Pin, launched in April at a price of $699, is experiencing significant challenges in the market. Internal sales data reveals that from May to August, daily returns of the AI Pin have outpaced sales. The company has managed to sell only around 10,000 units, falling short of its goal to sell 100,000 units this year. As a result, the number of AI Pins still in customer hands has decreased to approximately 7,000. Humane has generated over $9 million in lifetime sales, but more than $1 million worth of products have been returned. Once an AI Pin is returned, it becomes e-waste, as it cannot be reassigned to another user.
