A U.S. District Judge, Aileen Cannon, dismissed the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump on Monday, which was considered one of the strongest prosecutions against him. The case, brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith, accused Trump of illegally retaining classified documents after his presidency. Following the dismissal, Jack Smith filed a notice of appeal, and U.S. prosecutors formally appealed the decision. The appeal will be heard by the Eleventh Circuit Court, under Docket No. 24-12311.
