A jury has found Levin guilty of playing an integral role in a highly sophisticated international crew of thieves who stole millions of dollars' worth of jewelry and cash from banks in Eastern Europe, according to United States Attorney Peace. Additionally, the Department of Justice has indicted 53 Houston-area residents for participating in wire fraud schemes involving falsified documents to obtain bail bonds. The former owner of a Houston bail company and others were arrested in connection with this federal wire fraud bust, which involved the use of unsecured bail common in federal courts. In a separate case, Babu Ramaraj of Aldie, Virginia, has been charged with defrauding more than 70 investors of approximately $31 million through his company, DAB Inspection and Consulting Services LLC. The charges were based on their involvement in a scheme to defraud sellers of high-end vehicles, jewelry, and other goods purchased through the use of fraudulent documents, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of Florida.
