The U.S. Senate has confirmed Nancy L. Maldonado to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals with a vote of 47-43. Maldonado, a federal trial court judge and resident of Wilmette, Illinois, is making history as the first Hispanic judge to serve on the Seventh Circuit. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also praised her qualifications. The Seventh Circuit hears appeals arising from Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
