PacifiCorp, a utility owned by Berkshire Hathaway, is facing new claims totaling $30 billion for its alleged role in causing the Oregon wildfires in 2020, affecting southern Oregon and northern California. The claims are nearly four times the maximum loss previously projected by the company. Victims are seeking damages for actual losses such as property damage, which could be up to $5 million each, and up to $25 million for non-economic losses like emotional distress.
