The company aims to boost growth by creating an ad sales business using shopper data and tracking purchases. PayPal has hired Mark Grether, former head of Uber's advertising unit, to lead this new venture as Senior Vice President and General Manager of PayPal Ads. This move is part of PayPal's broader turnaround plan and will include AI-powered personalized promotions targeting millions of PayPal and Venmo users. PayPal's stock rose 2.43% following the announcement, according to the Wall Street Journal.
