SEC Celebrates 90th Anniversary with Event and Webinar by Gary Gensler

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is celebrating its 90th anniversary. Established during the Great Depression in the 1930s, the SEC has been instrumental in protecting investors, facilitating capital formation, and ensuring fair, orderly, and efficient markets. To commemorate this milestone, the SEC is hosting an event featuring panels with former SEC chairs and experts on the history of the agency. Current SEC Chair Gary Gensler is sponsoring a webinar to discuss the SEC's role in U.S. financial history. Additionally, Gensler has released a video exploring the SEC's history. The event will be livestreamed at 1pm ET and covered by CNBC.
