Target has announced that it will stop accepting personal checks as a form of payment in its stores starting July 15. The decision is attributed to the extremely low volumes of customers using personal checks. Target aims to provide an easy and convenient checkout experience through other payment methods, including credit and debit cards, 'buy now, pay later' services, and the Target Circle membership program. This change follows a broader trend among retailers moving away from traditional payment methods due to evolving financial habits and the rise of digital payment options. Customers will still have six payment options available after the change takes effect. The policy will be implemented two days after the end of the Target Circle Week sale, which runs from July 7-13.
