However, data from GasBuddy and the Energy Information Administration indicate that no gas stations in the United States are currently selling gasoline below $2 per gallon at retail prices. This includes the 15 states with the cheapest gas prices, such as Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas, where no stations have sub-$2 prices. While some consumers may access prices below $2 through promotions, loyalty points, or discounts, these do not reflect standard retail prices. Wholesale gasoline prices have occasionally fallen below $2 per gallon since last September, but this has not translated into retail prices at that level. Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, regular gasoline prices remain above $4.30 per gallon.
