The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed a lawsuit by Relevent Sports, a company owned by billionaire Stephen Ross, to proceed against the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and FIFA. The lawsuit alleges that the USSF and FIFA are violating antitrust laws by refusing to sanction official league soccer matches involving foreign clubs on American soil. This decision comes after the Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal by the USSF, effectively leaving the federation to face the antitrust claims in court. A settlement between Relevent Sports and FIFA is still pending.
