
The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in the United Arab Emirates has released Falcon 2 11B, an advanced artificial intelligence model designed to compete with leading AI technologies from major tech companies. Falcon 2 11B is a dense decoder model trained on 5.5 trillion tokens and supports multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese. It features a context length of 8,000 tokens and is open-source under a modified Apache 2.0 license. The model is reported to outperform Meta's Llama 3 and perform on par with Google's Gemini 7B. A Vision Language Model is also expected to be released soon.
