Egypt's Economy Grows 4.77% in Q3 2024/25 Amid Huawei Talks, China Visit, and 42% Renewable Energy Target

Egypt's economy expanded by 4.77% year-on-year in the third quarter of the 2024/2025 fiscal year, marking the fastest quarterly growth rate in three years, according to the Ministry of Planning. This economic acceleration highlights a positive trend in Egypt's economic performance. Concurrently, Egypt is actively pursuing partnerships to advance its energy sector, with the country's electricity and renewable energy minister recently visiting China. During this visit, the minister engaged with senior officials and business leaders, including representatives from Huawei, to explore collaboration opportunities. As part of its national energy strategy, Egypt aims to increase the share of renewable energy in its electricity generation to 42% by 2030, reflecting a commitment to sustainable development and energy diversification.
