Honor expanded its premium foldable line-up to Europe on Thursday, unveiling the Magic V5 at an event in London. The book-style device, first released in China in July, goes on sale immediately at €1,999 on the Continent and £1,699.99 in the UK, positioning it below Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google’s forthcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Billed by the company as the world’s thinnest foldable, the Magic V5 measures 8.8 millimetres when closed and 4.1 millimetres when open, yet houses a 5,820 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 66-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging. The handset features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor paired with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, a 7.95-inch inner and 6.43-inch outer 120-hertz LTPO OLED display duo, triple rear cameras led by a 50-megapixel main sensor, and IP58/IP59 dust- and water-resistance. Honor pledges seven years of Android upgrades and security patches and has integrated on-device AI tools built with Google’s Gemini models. By undercutting Samsung’s flagship on price while offering a larger battery and comparable performance, Honor is intensifying competition in a European foldables market that analysts expect to grow as shipments approach five million units this year. The Shenzhen-based company also introduced the ultralight MagicBook Art 14 laptop and MagicPad 3 tablet, broadening a hardware portfolio it hopes will raise its profile against established global rivals.
