Chainlink has launched the Chainlink Reserve, an on-chain strategic LINK token reserve designed to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the Chainlink Network. This reserve accumulates LINK tokens by converting both on-chain service usage fees and off-chain revenue from enterprise adoption into LINK, creating a feedback loop that ties protocol adoption directly to token demand. The initiative has been described as industry-first, enabling users to pay for Chainlink services in any currency, which is then programmatically converted into LINK and stored transparently on the Ethereum blockchain. Chainlink's revenue, generated from hundreds of millions of dollars through enterprise integrations, strategic partnerships, and on-chain usage, fuels the growth of this reserve. In parallel, Chainlink has partnered with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), to bring high-quality, real-time foreign exchange and precious metals data on-chain. This collaboration integrates ICE’s Consolidated Feed data into Chainlink Data Streams, making institutional-grade FX and precious metals pricing accessible on-chain to over 2,000 applications, banks, and asset managers. This partnership marks a milestone in bridging traditional finance with decentralized finance (DeFi), supporting the scaling of tokenized asset markets. Chainlink currently secures more than 83% of Ethereum DeFi value, with total value secured (TVS) reaching a new all-time high of over $93 billion across hundreds of DeFi protocols. The LINK token has seen significant price appreciation, rising from approximately $7 to over $22 in two years, reflecting growing adoption and utility in the blockchain ecosystem.
