Intercontinental Exchange Inc., operator of the New York Stock Exchange, said it is integrating its Consolidated Feed of foreign-exchange and precious-metals prices with Chainlink’s blockchain-based Data Streams. The move will make ICE’s institutional-grade market data available on public blockchains in near real time, the companies announced on 11 August. ICE’s feed aggregates prices from more than 300 global exchanges and marketplaces. By routing that information through Chainlink’s oracle network, the partners aim to give more than 2,000 decentralised applications, banks and asset managers tamper-resistant access to FX and metals benchmarks that meet traditional capital-markets latency and reliability standards. “Providing trusted, structured multi-asset data for on-chain markets is an important step in growing the global blockchain economy,” said Maurisa Baumann, vice-president of global data delivery platforms at ICE. Fernando Vazquez, president of capital markets at Chainlink Labs, called the collaboration “a pivotal shift towards a unified, globally accessible on-chain financial system.” The tie-up comes as Wall Street experiments with tokenising real-world assets, a market some analysts expect could exceed $30 trillion within the next decade. ICE and Chainlink say the enhanced data pipeline will help underpin that growth by supporting automated settlement systems and new classes of tokenised products.
