Strategic Ethereum Reserve Hits $10 Billion with Sharplink Gaming Buy, $7.85B Futures, 26M Transactions, and Institutional Adoption

The Strategic Ethereum Reserve has experienced a remarkable increase, growing from approximately $200 million in April to $10 billion as of August 2025, marking a 50-fold surge in just four months. Sharplink Gaming, a publicly listed company, contributed to this growth by acquiring an additional 15,822 ETH, valued at around $53.68 million, bringing its total strategic reserve to 480,000 ETH. Ethereum's ecosystem continues to show strong momentum, with over 26 million daily transactions recorded recently. In July 2025, Ethereum futures open interest reached an all-time high of $7.85 billion, driven by increased activity from ETFs and large investors. Stablecoin inflows into Ethereum have also been substantial, with $967 million moving into the network within a 24-hour period. The month of July saw over $2.2 billion flow through PowerTrade, a platform offering options trading with staking rewards paid in USDC. Ethereum's adoption is accelerating, highlighted by major financial institutions such as JPMorgan launching ETH-backed lending and USDC rewards, eToro entering tokenized stocks, and HSBC along with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority advancing a digital Hong Kong dollar on Ethereum. Overall, Ethereum has outperformed all other Layer 1 blockchains combined in terms of mindshare growth over the past 30 days.
