Fidelity, the world's third-largest asset manager, has published a bullish report framing Ethereum (ETH) as the reserve asset of a new digital dollar economy and a global store of value. The report highlights Ethereum's role beyond being just a gas token, noting that ETH settles 74% of decentralized exchange (DEX) trades, backs 21% of on-chain lending, and operates via code-based supply mechanisms rather than central banks. Ethereum's market value is cited around $316 billion to $335 billion, while the underlying asset it supports is estimated at $100 trillion. Stablecoins, predominantly operating on Ethereum, have reached a supply of $137 billion, representing 51% of stablecoins and continuing to grow, with notable contributions from BlackRock's BUILD stablecoin (+56%) and PayPal's PYUSD (+19%). The Ethereum ecosystem's total value locked (TVL) increased by 33%, real-world assets (RWAs) tokenized on Ethereum grew by 48%, ETH exchange-traded fund (ETF) assets under management rose by 19%, and net inflows reached $6.2 billion in Q2 2025. Meanwhile, Solana has seen a 140% year-to-date increase in RWAs, now exceeding $418 million, with tokenized assets including treasuries and Tesla shares. Solana's TVL grew by 30%, RWAs by 24%, and staking increased to 64.7% of supply, reflecting a 102% year-over-year TVL growth. Institutional investors such as BlackRock, Apollo, and VanEck are actively tokenizing assets on Solana, signaling growing Wall Street engagement with the blockchain platform.
