Bison Futé has forecasted heavy traffic congestion for the first two weekends of the 2025 summer vacation period in France, with Friday and Saturday consistently marked as red days for road travel nationwide. On the initial weekend of departures, traffic jams reached up to 900 kilometers on Friday, with Saturday expected to be red across the entire country. The second weekend coincides with the July 14 national holiday, intensifying traffic difficulties. On July 11, over 240 kilometers of traffic jams were reported in the Île-de-France region by midday. Public transportation, including RER, metro, and Transilien lines, is also expected to face numerous disruptions due to the start of multiple construction projects during the second half of July. Vinci has initiated awareness campaigns to encourage safer driving behaviors amid the challenging travel conditions. Authorities have issued advice to motorists to avoid congested areas and plan ahead, as the holiday and construction-related traffic pressures combine to create one of the busiest travel periods of the season.
