In early July 2025, Ingram Micro, a major global technology distributor, suffered a ransomware attack that caused a widespread outage and disrupted its systems and operations. The company confirmed the attack over the July 4 weekend and worked diligently to restore affected systems to resume processing and shipping orders. By July 9, Ingram Micro had restarted order processing for some regions and by July 10, it had fully restored all business operations worldwide. The ransomware group behind the attack, known as SafePay, employed an unusual approach that cybersecurity experts noted made the attack more difficult to defend against. Later in July 2025, French telecommunications giant Orange disclosed a cyberattack that began on July 25, which disrupted some of its services. Orange's CEO, Christel Heydemann, stated that no data breach had been detected so far. The company filed a complaint and planned to restore affected services by July 30, while remaining vigilant amid the ongoing cyberattack.
