Exxon Mobil began output from the One Guyana floating production, storage and offloading vessel on the Yellowtail field, its fourth FPSO in Guyana’s Stabroek Block. The start-up, achieved four months ahead of schedule, adds about 250,000 barrels of daily capacity and lifts the consortium’s installed production in the South American nation to more than 900,000 barrels per day. Oil shipped from the vessel will be marketed as Golden Arrowhead crude. The company, which operates the block with a 45 % stake alongside Chevron’s recently acquired 30 % interest and China’s CNOOC on 25 %, expects Guyana’s output from eight planned FPSOs to reach 1.7 million barrels per day by 2030. ExxonMobil also secured terms with Trinidad and Tobago earlier this week for a return to the country’s offshore sector after a two-decade hiatus. Government officials said the parties have agreed to award seven ultra-deep blocks—renamed Ultra Deep 1—in waters 2,000 to 3,000 metres deep northwest of the Stabroek area, with the contract signing expected as soon as next week.
