
Consumers in India may soon have to pay more for ATM cash withdrawals as the Confederation of ATM Industry (CATMI) is seeking an increase in interchange fees. The proposed hike would raise the fees to a maximum of ₹23 per transaction. ATM operators have appealed to the Reserve Bank of India and the National Payments Corporation of India to support their request, according to a report by The Economic Times. The interchange fee is currently paid by customers for cash withdrawals at ATMs.
