The Delhi High Court has upheld an interim order awarding ₹115 crore to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). This decision comes amid ongoing discussions regarding a $2.81 billion demand notice related to a gas theft case involving Reliance Industries and ONGC. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, confirmed that the oil ministry will pursue the demand from Reliance Industries and its partners until the end. Puri also stated that there is currently more crude oil available globally than can be utilized, referencing a pre-OPEC production level of 102 million barrels per day.
