Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have sold shares worth Rs 1.4 lakh crore in the Indian market during the fiscal year 2025, with a net sell of Rs 4,352.82 crore on March 28. On that day, FIIs bought shares worth Rs 11,508 crore and sold shares worth Rs 15,861 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were net buyers, purchasing Rs 7,646.49 crore after buying Rs 16,920 crore and selling Rs 9,273 crore in equities. The term 'Mar-a-Lago Accord' has been mentioned in financial discussions as a potential strategy to restructure the global economic order. This concept, proposed by Stephen Miran, one of President Trump's advisors and head of the Council of Economic Advisors, aims to address issues such as the overvaluation of the US dollar and the US's large trade deficits. However, it is considered unlikely to achieve the necessary international cooperation to be effective. Discussions around the Mar-a-Lago Accord, first coined by Zoltan Poszar in June 2024, suggest it could involve weakening the US dollar to boost American exports and reduce trade deficits, potentially reshaping the global financial system. Critics argue that such a move would be risky and could lead to economic instability, though some of Trump's policies could be seen as working in this direction.
Trump's chaos, uncertainty, threats pushed safe-haven #gold into all-time high territory and beyond while US dollar is becoming a dangerous-hell to hold. https://t.co/uuU0LiI0iP
It's the end of "safe haven" currency status for US dollar and start of "dangerous hell" status. Trump will force even more dedollarisation. In this chaotic geopolitical hell environment US dollar should have been much higher but it isn't. https://t.co/zAEOlXNDvc
