Google has embedded its AI Mode chatbot directly into Android’s Circle to Search feature, allowing users to circle or tap on-screen content and ask follow-up questions without leaving the app they are in. The capability is initially available on Pixel handsets and Samsung devices and expands the conversational search tool that was introduced earlier this year inside Google Search. The upgrade, announced 9 July during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in Brooklyn, adds AI-generated overviews, real-time help for mobile games, and clearer visual cards. Google says Circle to Search now operates on more than 300 million Android devices. Google is also extending Gemini Live integrations. The service now supports Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Flip 7 and other foldables, offers camera-sharing on the Flip 7’s cover screen, and connects with Samsung Calendar, Notes and Reminders. Gemini will roll out to third-party apps and smartwatches running Wear OS 6, including the newly launched Watch 8 series. AI Mode began rolling out outside the United States this week, debuting to English-language users in India. Google plans to bring the feature to Google Lens on both Android and iOS, broadening access to its generative-AI search experience.
