India's Ministry of External Affairs has formally rejected the legitimacy and authority of the Court of Arbitration concerning the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan. The ministry stated that it has never recognized the court's legal competence or jurisdiction and considers its recent rulings legally void and irrelevant to India's water rights under the treaty. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated that India does not accept the arbitration court's pronouncements. Additionally, India distanced itself from BRICS calls for de-dollarisation, affirming that de-dollarisation is not part of its financial agenda. On border trade with China, India remains engaged with Chinese counterparts to facilitate the resumption of trade through designated points including the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Shipki La Pass.
