The Indian government has announced a new initiative to provide free artificial intelligence (AI) training to 1 million citizens, with a focus on village-level entrepreneurs (VLEs). Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that priority will be given to 5.5 lakh CSC (Common Service Centres) franchise holders as part of this program. The initiative aims to strengthen digital inclusion at the grassroots level, coinciding with the celebration of CSC Diwas and the 10th anniversary of the Digital India campaign. The training will also integrate AI with services such as IRCTC and state-level digital platforms to enhance the reach and effectiveness of Common Service Centres across the country.
