India’s Ministry of Defence said it carried out back-to-back launches of the Prithvi-II and Agni-I ballistic missiles from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha, on 17 July. The tests, conducted under the Strategic Forces Command, validated all stated operational and technical parameters, according to officials. Prithvi-II is a short-range system designed for tactical missions, while Agni-I provides a longer-range strategic deterrent. The Defence Ministry noted that all subsystems performed as expected, confirming the readiness of both missiles for operational deployment.
