MeitY Explores OpenAI's GPT-4o and Google's Gemini for UTTARA Project Amid Global AI Conclave on Finite Data, Not AGI

The Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is exploring advanced AI models, including OpenAI's GPT-4o and Google's Gemini, for the UTTARA project. This initiative was highlighted during the Global AI Conclave, where Microsoft, Google, and government representatives discussed the importance of addressing real-world problems using finite data rather than pursuing artificial general intelligence (AGI). Experts also emphasized the need for India to transition from traditional programming languages like C and C++ to more AI-stable languages, or to enhance hardware for better AI readiness.
