The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued a warning about cyber criminals impersonating officers from government agencies such as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and other law enforcement agencies. These fraudsters engage in blackmail and digital arrest, threatening victims and demanding large sums of money. The MHA advises the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The warning also includes impersonation of officers from state and Union Territory agencies.
