The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been conducting ongoing raids across multiple states, targeting politicians and their associates in connection with various cases, including money laundering and illegal mining. In Jharkhand, Congress MLA Amba Prasad's premises in Hazaribagh and Ranchi were raided for almost 18 hours over alleged money laundering activities related to multiple cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Prasad, representing the Barkagaon Assembly seat, claimed she was pressured by the BJP to contest from Hazaribagh, an offer she declined. The raids resulted in the seizure of Rs 35 lakh and fake stamps. Similarly, in Uttar Pradesh, former Cabinet Minister Gayatri Prajapati and his family were the focus of raids related to a sand mining case, with searches conducted in Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, and Delhi. Additionally, in Tamil Nadu, locations linked to Ramanathapuram MP Navas Kani were raided, though details are pending. The ED's actions also extended to questioning Gayatri Prajapati's son and summoning former DSP Abhishek Prasad and others in the illegal mining case. Meanwhile, in Kolkata, expelled TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan was taken into custody by the CBI, with a Basirhat Court placing him in eight-day CBI custody.
