OpenAI has initiated data center operations in India to support the growing user base and increasing demand for its AI tools in the country. This move is part of a broader data residency program launched in Asia, which allows enterprises and institutions in India, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea to store data locally while using OpenAI's products. Eligible API, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Edu customers can keep user data within their respective countries to comply with local data sovereignty requirements. Additionally, OpenAI has introduced a new feature called ChatGPT Deep Research, currently in beta, which enables users to connect their GitHub repositories to ChatGPT. This feature allows ChatGPT to pull data from repositories and analyze codebases and engineering documents in real time, providing detailed, cited reports. The Deep Research tool is available for Plus, Pro, and Team users. In Europe, the "Reference Chat History" feature is now active for all users, enhancing the user experience by allowing easier access to previous interactions with ChatGPT.
Today we’re introducing our first connector in beta for deep research: GitHub. Connect your repos, ask a question, and ChatGPT will analyze your actual codebase and engineering docs—returning a comprehensive, cited report in minutes. ChatGPT respects your organization’s https://t.co/bx1ZczFZKs
