Russia said it has deepened its commercial ties with India, with 90% of bilateral payments now settled in rupees and roubles, and all Russian companies operating in India accepting the local currency, according to Deputy Chief of Mission Roman Babushkin and the Russian Embassy in New Delhi. The embassy also announced a roughly 5% price concession on Russian crude shipments to India and confirmed that supplies to Nayara Energy’s refinery remain uninterrupted through direct deliveries from Rosneft. Moscow, already India’s fourth-largest trading partner, aims to lift two-way commerce to $100 billion by 2030, cut the trade imbalance and streamline logistics via the International North-South Transport Corridor and the planned Chennai–Vladivostok sea route.
